Addiction & Recovery
Related: About this forumSent this to a friend this morning who picked up yesterday.
By no means am i authority on recovery i told her. In my four years Ive had three slips and I have no clue how or what triggered my slips.
And yet in these years i do have some distance from being active in my drinking so Ill take it. And i told her do not take yesterday personally.
As addicts maybe something inside of us is broken. And i told her this morning get ready I'm taking you to breakfast. And then will hit the store to get what we need for potato soup because were spending the day together and you do not need to be alone.
Today my friend and Dunc the chunk and i will hit the park for fresh air and a walk.
I told her i love you and chonk loves you we see the goodness that you have inside. And also your Duncs sugar momma for treats chonk is a player i told her.

(450 posts)I don't know if your involved in AA or not but your actions sound exactly like what good 12th step work should be. Keep on keepin on.

(26,357 posts)It's like driving a car from NY to CA. If you have a flat in Toledo, you don't go back to NY and start over. You make the repair, learn from your mistakes and continue on your journey!
I will have to remember that and tell my home group. I also have a sponsee who could use this.

(26,357 posts)That drew me to SMART recovery in the first place. It's a nice alternative to AA. But like I always say, "Whatever works."
