I splurged and got a PBS Passport $5/month
You know what finally made me do it? I was in the middle of watching Ken Burn's Leonardo Da Vinci and PBS switched it to Passport....
Now I can watch all of Ken Burn's documentaries!
They really had been pushing it and shortening the length of time they were available for free. Oh well....I think it's worth it.

(32,761 posts)I'm glad they did the gradual nudging. I was watching it so much, I knew it was worth it.
However, in 2020 I paid $20 for a discounted service called "Curiosity Stream". The documentaries were poor quality and we did not renew.

Did your offer include Britbox?
My friend got an offer which offered Britbox and Passport if you donated $60 a year to our station
I got Passport with the no cost if you are a donor to your local PBS station offer

(32,761 posts)I'm the odd one out here: I don't watch the British series.
I watch the PBS documentaries and performances.

(2,071 posts)I got Passport for the 'main feature' type shows like Masterpiece, Finding Your Roots etc. But I've also found some really good things if you dig down into the 'Shows' catagory. I love any of the Lucy Worsley shows which are not dramas but not really documentaries either--all related to history in some way. The 'Walter Presents' shows are all international series/films that are really good--Astrid being a favorite. I think most of those have either subtitles or are dubbed.
For $5/month it's well worth it.
