I watched on Peacock..."Those About to Die"..

I believe that one of my favorite movies, Gladiator was based upon this book....

Well...where is Ridley Scott when you need him? The script and writing of this Peacock series or story just put me to sleep.

It has good actors such as Iwan Rheon who played Ramsey Bolton in Game of Thrones, but oh my....flat story flow, no character development...

Anyone else see this series ?

... episode 1 for exactly the reasons you just elucidated.

Maybe the script was written by an AI bot.

I think by episode two they have the sort of scene I find most annoying: two characters sit down and info dump backstory, plot, motivations, anything the writers couldn't figure out how to reveal organically. In most series, this occurs on a living-room couch, or a couple of chairs in a community center, but here it happens on a bench in the middle of the arena during gladiator practice, making it seem oddly modern.
