I highly recommend "Nyad"
What an amazing and inspiring true story. I definitely think it'll grab several awards this Oscar season. Warning: it's exhausting watching all she went through.
Streaming on Netflix

(12,997 posts)I was left in awe of what Nyad conquered: within herself and the external forces of nature and time. She showed that with the might within ourselves we can be and do so much more--a true superperson.
I left the couch suddenly doing stretches and knee-bends.

(12,997 posts)I remembered, though, the media coverage she got after she did finally make it. The movie did engage, and it was easy to forget the actual history. The performances were completely convincing.

(1,949 posts)The acting was stellar, and the story was riveting. A great film depicting strong women is hard to find.
Highly recommend watching it!
