I finally watched "Hello, My Name Is Doris" which is now available on Netflix.

No scifi, no violence, no car chases, just a sweet little flick starring Sally Field. I loved it and she was really outstanding in it.
Nice to watch a movie with a plot and decent acting.

sorry, kids, animated kids movies (though I don't bemoan those continuing to be made and hopefully made well). It does seem like 0.1 percent of new releases could have an actual adult plot or maybe a historical narrative with good acting. But, like tv, where ridiculous "reality" shows have overtaken any scripted tv, it seems like a losing cause.

I'll check this out because such appear to be few and far between.

That’s why I have zero interest in going to see new movies for the most part.

The last movie I saw in a theatre was Bohemian Rhapsody.

I'm with you on all of that. Have you heard of AARP's Movies for Grownups Awards? I usually like their recommendations and Doris was on their list.

I just saw it myself, lots of familiar faces in that one, great acting by Sally I thought.
