Mank
I just watched this (on Netflix) today.
It is brilliant. The writing, the acting, the cinematography and lighting all comes together to create an almost perfect film.
I dont think it is the kind of movie everyone will like and it moves rather slowly, but it is one of the best movies I have seen in years.

(13,340 posts)Gary Oldman, IMHO, is the best actor of his generation.
Every since he burned up the screen as Joe Orton and Sid Vicious and Dracula and on and on.
Great actor.

(585 posts)It will be sadly ironic if Mank wins Best Picture, seeing as how Citizen Kane (IMO the greatest American film) didn't. (The Academy chickened out in abject fear of W.R. Hearst.)
