Amazon Prime paid $125 million for "Coming 2 America" streaming rights

They bought the film -- or rather it became available -- back in October 2020 when it was apparent there'd be a delayed theatrical release. It will debut on March 5th and sounds pretty good.

I'm aware this isn't the first instance of a film going direct to streaming and certainly won't be the last, but $125 million? Wow.

plus whatever browsing history their little cookies deposit on your devices.

Only good thing is that any actor or production member who is paid a percentage in gross in receipts is guaranteed money. If that's Eddie Murphy, great.

Or even more paying $19.99 for a single stream. I'm just not seeing it, but YMMV. Glad Arsenio got a gig. It's been a long time.

I thinks it's worth no more than one single-month binge-watching subscription per year.

My expectations were pretty high, I think I laughed about 4 times. I like Eddie Murphy too.

Peace
