Did anyone see "I'm thinking of ending things"? (Semi spoiler alert)

What did you think of it? I found it pretty entertaining. I got the fact that she was imagining what his parents were like when they were younger and older. But I got the sense that he got near the end of the movie and could figure out how to end it. So he just said, let's give it a David Lynch treatment and bang! It was over.

that he imagined having a girlfriend in the first place. He lived his imaginary biography before ending things, knowing every detail of what a real girlfriend would have found out about him - his job, his strange parents, etc..
