"Unforgotten" on Amazon Prime
I just finished all three seasons of this excellent British Police Drama. (Dont think ill of me, 6 episodes comprise a season for most british show...) "Unforgotten" was one of the best of many, many, many shows I've binged since March. This show has it all, excellent writing, acting, suspense, mystery, character development, pathos...
Highly Recommend - on Prime.

(3,386 posts)shows and movies. I had seen her in "Last Tango in Halifax" and when I was done with that I looked for other shows she was in. "The Split" is enjoyable, too.

(41,896 posts)The chemistry between Nicola Walker and Stellen Skarsgård as partners was brilliant.
All the trauma and tragedy, but then the ordinary part of their friendship. Like when they talk about Weight Watcher points.

(34,189 posts)Of the series she is in, I have watched MI-5 (aka Spooks), Scott & Bailey, River, Collateral, Last Tango in Halifax, and Unforgotten. All are wonderful.
Now I want to track down her other series and watch them.

(2,071 posts)She has such a great range--cerebral but quirky in MI-5 and a total mess in Halifax. Just love her.
If you liked Last Tango, Sarah Lancashire who played the daughter of Celia is the main character in Happy Valley. She's outstanding in that--plays a policewoman in a thriller. She's another fantastic Brit actress.

(34,189 posts)And am now watching the most recent series (4?).
I'd never seen it, but last fall while my husband and I were in the UK we stayed at The Expanse Hotel in Bridlington. They had notices up that no cars could be on the street the day we were leaving. The desk clerk told me scenes for Last Tango were being shot there! AS soon as we got home, I began watching the series from season 1. I'm hoping they used those shots for this season.

(16,170 posts)A six part Australian series which is a spinoff of the movie of the same name and its sequel Goldstone. Excellent acting and includes Judy Davis. I will watch anything with Judy Davis in it.
Binged the series on Amazon Prime a few months ago. Highly recommended for all the reasons youve given.

(2,071 posts)If you liked him in Unforgotten, and you have Acorn, look for The Indian Doctor. I just finished it (3 seasons) and it's wonderful. He is a Dr coming from India with his wife to a small Welsh coal mining town in the early 60s. I fell in love with it and the whole cast was charming.
