SNP loses bid to ‘redefine meaning of women’ to include trans people on public boards

An attempt by SNP ministers to "redefine the meaning of women" to include people born as males has been ruled unlawful by the Scottish courts in a landmark victory for feminist campaigners.

Edinburgh's Court of Session found that the nationalist government went beyond its devolved powers by legislating that transgender women should count as women in a law designed to increase female representation on public boards.

The campaign group For Women Scotland, which crowdfunded almost £200,000 to mount the legal fight, lost a judicial review a year ago but has now succeeded on appeal.

The court said that the Scottish Parliament would have been entitled to legislate to attempt to increase numbers of women and trans people on public boards separately, as both groups are protected under the Equality Act.

1. Frankly I'm baffled

Is is just me that finds the whole gender-role and definition thing has seemed to be overblown all my life. It certainly seems far less innate and more a learned set of behaviors than many people seem to define these issues. Having moved from an urban setting to a rural one in my teen years, I was blown away at how idiotically conformist with gender identity issues every single one of those rural human animals seemed absolutely obsessed with, that any breach or even a perceived transgression nonconforming with their gender expression norms was cause for full ballistic altercations. It just seemed extra stupid to me.
I've always been disappointed in, for instance the men's sections of clothing departments stocking nothing more flamboyant than a damn mattress cover, dull colors, mind numbingly bland.
These are the exact definition of fake "controversies" to me. Not one notion of value to be gained, no real virtue in any of it.

They are just bigots.

Feminist fight for the rights of all women-including trans women.

Gender Critical/Trans Exclusionary Radical bigots are the opposite of feminist in every way.
