I loved The Phil Donahue Show and my favorite episode

(and there were many I was enthralled with) was Amy Dacyczyn and book, The Tightwad Gazette.

Being thrifty and frugal from her ideas have kept me going for decades. Yearly, my net pay is around $22,000.

I haven't purchased new clothing in decades. Thrift shops. All my Revereware (pots, pans, lids) have come from thrift sales and garage sales. Kitchen gadgets, same thing. I even found pristine Bavarian China (50+ pieces) for $40. I maintain my car as far as oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, etc. I shop only there's a deep discounts on poultry, meat, eggs, etc. and stock up. Example, this week coffee is reduced from $6 to $3. You bet I'm going to pounce. Books: used book sales in libraries, thrift stores, garage sales, etc. At Strand's in NYC, you can get "reviewers' copies" for a deep discount, recent publications.

Phil Donahue stimulated my imagination and my mind and my compassion. But this one particular show has changed my life.
