OSHA fines Tyson Fresh Meats for death at Dakota City, Nebraska plant

DAKOTA CITY, Neb. — Tyson Fresh Meats has agreed to pay nearly $28,000 in fines for violations found after a fatal accident at its Dakota City plant in January.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited Tyson Fresh Meats for failure to clearly outline energy control procedures involving a machine that crushed a worker Jan. 6.
Tyson will pay a total of $27,790 for two violations found during its investigation.
