1. I used to read economic papers

After a few dozen I concluded that I largely was wasting my time. In general, the papers roughly stated "X causes Y under conditions Z". The problem, imo, is that Z in all cases was subjective and left out other factors that might cause Y. That doesn't mean the paper is wrong. But it is certainly not real science. It is opinion.
