Mexican Cartel Boss Killed by His Own Gunmen in Hospital Shootout

In a fatal case of mistaken identity, cartel hitmen accidentally murdered their own boss during an shootout in a hospital in Mexico.

Knewz.com has learned that the elusive “El 22” Sinaloa Cartel drug boss was killed by his own gang members because they thought he was a hitman from a rival gang.

The Daily Star reported that the shooting took place in a private health clinic in Culiacán, Mexico on the night of Thursday, September 28, 2023.

It is believed that Sinaloa Cartel gunmen were guarding a man who was receiving treatment at the facility when their boss made an unannounced visit to pay for the wounded patient’s surgery.

As he arrived on the scene armed, his men likely thought he was there to finish off the recovering man.

“That's the bad thing about not knowing the boss," a source told The Star.

.......Four people died in the shootout, including Dr. Otniel Montoya, who was apparently caught in the crossfire. Montoya's death was described as “collateral damage” by Sinaloa Police Chief Gerardo Mérida, according to The Associated Press.
