A Gainesville man accused of trying to rob someone on Christmas Day slipped on the ice and hit the ground, allowing witnesses to get the gun away from him, police said.

A man who had fallen asleep near a fire pit was flown to a hospital on Christmas after suffering third-degree burns to his legs, according to authorities.

There is nothing in the story to indicate he isn't a US citizen. Florida tends to point it out when criminals aren't us citizens.

He allegedly fired a gun during the course of an armed robbery and tried to flee. Heck, he doesn't even appear to be facing gun charges.

I don't get the comment about trying to get into the united states?
