It's not pretty. I'm NOT trying to say he is telling the truth, but it's out there. I ran into this on Facebook.

That's the very short summary off Facebook.
And yes, I agree with you about PBO vs. Darth Cheney and GWB.

Obama does not destroy people for the fun of it, that much I know.

(37,481 posts)Hagel has a different interpretation, to be sure. He'll never get another job with a Democratic administration, that much is certain.

(10,439 posts)It's almost impossible to know the overall strategy. But I did read a very positive assessment last weekend linked by "The Discussionist" recommended while DU was moving files.
The Quiet Grand Strategy of Barack Obama
Are the president's diplomatic initiatives winning a new American Century? (Via TomDispatch.com)

I think Obama is thinking and working grand scale and people like Hagel think very small and specific. Whatever is the reason Obama won't clarify his use of the term ISIL while just about every news outlet refers to ISIS? It would help defend his positions to have his reasoning and why its important. But his opting not to give us the reason might be part of the strategy. I trust his judgement more than any other's in or out of Washington.
