Extra credit:

The geek trick I often use is to type "cd" into a terminal window and then drag a folder icon into that window then hit return. That changes directory to that folder. All the spaces are escaped this way with one drag!

I have a bunch of perl scripts to rename files, and others. "convertwebp" is a lifesaver. I'll post these scripts someday soon. Preview will convert file types, as will right/control click "Quick Actions" but not on 30 files at once, that I know of.
