I was given a gift subscription to YouTube...

and lately, when I log into my accoubt, I get all sorts of videos from sensational news organizations. Is there a way to block those? I thought it I accessed the three vertical dots, that it would give me the option of ignoring them, but it doesn't. There must be a way I can get rid of them. I hope.
Thanks in advance!

You need to log in to the front page, not a subscription. This URl is the 'clean' homepage https://www.youtube.com/

The three dots don't work on search results and possibly other pages.
