I was given a gift subscription to YouTube...

and lately, when I log into my accoubt, I get all sorts of videos from sensational news organizations. Is there a way to block those? I thought it I accessed the three vertical dots that it would give me the option of ignoring them, but it doesn't. There must be a way I can get rid of them. I hope.
Thanks in advance!

Below the thumbnail, to the right of the video title, there are three dots. Click those, and one of the options that comes up is "Don't recommend this channel." Clicking that will stop all vids from that channel. I probably have hundreds of news channels on 'don't recommend.'
