Hello. Sorry to be a bother, but just one small question. When I write a reply to a post or make a new
post, I get a temporary error that says 'do not sell my information' and has two buttons on it.
I've never had this before here on DU so wondering why it may be popping up.
Thanks!

(16,871 posts)1. I believe it's a glitch that the admins have not been able to squash.
Even as a star member, I just ignore it.

It's necessary legal jargon put there by our ad provider
But I've asked them if it can be branded so that people understand that the message comes from DU, and the answer was it can't be done. The banner is supposed to go away after you interact with it once, but for some people it comes back multiple times. In addition, if you're on mobile, there's a little green icon that appears on the screen at all times, even for Star Members, and I've asked them if that can be removed, and they also said no. And yes, they are also responsible for the annoying "verifying browser" interrupt page, which they've also told me can't be changed. So I will likely be changing our ad provider later this year.
