How do I adjust the sound on my PC? I see a little icon of a speaker in the lower right edge of my screen but
I'm afraid something bad might happen if I click on it. Is it the right place to increase the sound level?

OP
You didn't say the OS, but if it is Windows, click it, or go through Settings-System-Sound

So far, I've had no trouble with it. Good luck!

When you click on it you will get a sliding bar you can adjust.

I know you just want to up the volume of your head-banging music.

It could be due to other processes running on your computer; for example. You might have a lot of browser windows and tabs open. You might click on it and have a delay to the click and drag responsiveness. The slider highlight will change as you roll over it with the cursor.

by formatting the hard drive and re-installing the operating system.
