Recently I got a gmail account but soon found a fee of $21.60 for something called GSuite for a business...something I don't need.

Or do free email servie still exist? I've had one with GoDaddy for over a decade because they were my web site administrators which entitled me to free email service. They cut me off though recently as they want to charge me now for 365 and I can't access my emails with them.

1. Gmail is your best bet. IMO

Always free, easy to use, accessible from PC & mobile. I've used it for 15 years without any trouble.

I don't mind something reasonable but $21 a monthy seems high. I mean they make money with the ads we put up with.

7. They can be a nightmare.

I have had a gmail account for some fifteen or more years and in the past two they have inadvertently denied me access to my account for unspecified reasons and there is nobody you can contact to rectify anything when you have a problem.

I always have trouble accessing my acct when not on my specific ISP - meaning I can't travel and use my gmail even with my own laptop. I am also looking for a new email provider since I haven't been able to access my gmail for several months and I'm pissed about it.

And there is no customer service with gmail.

In the past five or six years, they were great for a long time, now, pffft! Soon as I find a different service, I'll be dropping the google stuff, it's the only one of their products I use anymore and I am ready to dump it.

What good is an email account that you can't access?

Yahoo klunky, can't unlearn spam and can't block it.

GMAIL slow, annoying, worse than Linked In

Mail.com .... yes, very yes. Takes a little time to learn filtering, and adding addresses. can create sorting folders on the fly. never lost an email because it saves every draft on the fly. Free unless you need premium.

Tuto ... don't know never tried it.

8. Using mail.com for a couple of years

No complaints, easy to use. They offer their premium version at half off every holiday (15.00 a year) but free version works great.

13. Yeah, that GSuite thing is really for business/small bussiness for several email addresses.

Somehow when I was trying to get just a simple gmail account I must've clicked on a link for Google Work Space (for a business/several accounts) and they've been charging me monthly. I just got my bank to investigate to get my money back...$21.60 a month.

15. Make fun of me if you wish, but I've had multiple free AOL accounts dating back to dial-up days...

While I've had trouble lately with it importing into MS Outlook, I am convinced that is an Outlook issue, so I just access AOL-mail online. No problems. And even free accounts have benefitted from their anti-spam, anti-phishing, and other features.

So, come on, DU-mockers... It has worked for me for decades. But DO change passwords frequently because your email addresses (there and everywhere) DO get published online. For that reason, pay attention to return addresses when you click on ANY email.

If I sign out and re-sign in, it flashes "Google workplace," not suite. I have three different Gmail accounts. And I pay no fees at all, ever. I looked at Google products in the little square of dots ("Google aps&quot and I saw Google Workplace as a product.

IF you even want to stay near gmail, that is. (I'm kind of stuck there because I'm so used to the format that nothing else feels right, but I wouldn't want to pay for it, either.)
