Replaced the dogs in the agitator about 7 years ago, element in the dryer about 10 years ago and both are
working like champs.
I considered the newer techy models but I have heard and seen too many issues with these models, especially Samsung
and LG (lucky goldstar) but old tech is reliable and usually homeowner repairable.

I'll keep them

after katrina (2005) i junked the washer and bought a new maytag.

the dryer still works. i wash at the laundromat.

maybe the worst suck on planned obsolescence is an hp printer. i think it is a timer,

Life expectancy is ~30 yrs. Fully mechanical, metal gears, & light commercial.

Not cheap, but no bs either.
