WV preparing to be without its traditional poll machines for 2026 Primary Election because of Trump executive order

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia Secretary of State Kris Warner says the state may be returning to paper ballots for next May’s Primary Election.

According to Warner, an executive order signed in March by President Donald Trump could impact voting throughout the Mountain State.

The executive order prohibits the use of voting systems in the country that use QR codes and bar codes to count votes. All 55 counties in West Virginia use electronic scanners that rely on QR codes and bar codes.

Warner, who appeared on 580 Live on WCHS Radio Monday, says the state is not yet certain how the court system will look at the executive order, but they’re preparing to adjust.

Unless repugs find a way to steal paper ballots and burn them. "Gee, out of 2 million voters, only 15,000 voted. All for Republicans."
