RW talk show host Jason Rantz keeps demonstrating he'd rather blatantly spin poll results than honestly interpret them

With summer in full swing and the home stretch of the 2026 midterm election cycle rapidly approaching, Seattle-based right wing talk show host Jason Rantz is once again performing one of his favorite pre-election rituals: twisting poll results to hype Republican candidates and right wing ballot measures in Washington State.

In the last few days, Rantz and his staff at Seattle Red (that’s what KTTH calls itself nowadays) have generated not one, but two propaganda pieces spinning poll results to promote a narrative that Republicans are on their way to a romp in November.

In the first piece, Rantz used a polling memo recently created for a right wing group calling itself the Concerned Taxpayers Accountability Center to argue that Brian Heywood’s initiative to repeal the million-dollar earners tax looks unbeatable.

In the second, Rantz tried to turn a statistically meaningless one-point difference in NPI’s polling between Democratic U.S. Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez and Republican challenger John Braun in Washington’s 3rd Congressional District into the pronouncement that “even the left’s own poll shows Braun beating Perez.”

I haven't listened to Rantz in years, but his typical style is to build up and knock down straw men.

1. On the second point...

…what it only shows is, if you run a Republican against a RINO, the Republican wins every time. Seriously, MGP is about as popular among state Democrats here as Fetterman is nationwide.

Also as to Rantz: he reached the bottom of the barrel back in 2019, I believe, when he denounced the Emerald City Supporters, the fan group of the Sounders soccer team for having an “anti-fascist, anti-racist” clause in their membership rules, and encouraging the Proud Boys and their related ilk to attack ECS members on the way to games. I know at least one case the next week where an elderly ECS member was seized on his way to the stadium and given a severe beating by a pack of MAGA thugs.
