The Crocodile plans to shutter 2 smaller venues in Belltown

The owners of The Crocodile plan to shutter live music venue Madame Lou's and comedy club Here-After as soon as mid-December.

The Seattle venues, both located in the corner building at 2505 First Ave., opened in 2021 as part of The Crocodile's revamp.

Employees at The Crocodile informed City Cast Seattle, a local podcast and newsletter, about the closures last week. They said the owners conveyed the decision at an all-staff meeting, though the reasons for it are unclear.

Representatives for the club could not be reached for comment. Hunter Motto, the club's creative director and general partner, recently told the Seattle Times that The Crocodile’s main room "will continue operations uninterrupted.”
