Councilmember Alexis Mercedes Rinck is once again the only Seattle elected official with a positive job performance rati

Days ahead of the 2025 general election, NPI’s latest Seattle Civic Heartbeat poll has found that a representative sample of November voters are pretty unhappy with the performance of their city level elected officials, with everyone getting a negative rating except for Seattle’s newest at-large councilmember — Alexis Mercedes Rinck.

615 likely voters interviewed October 19th-23rd, 2025 by Change Research for the Northwest Progressive Institute were asked to weigh in on the job performances of Mayor Bruce Harrell, City Attorney Ann Davison, and nine councilmembers.

Here’s a summary:

Mayor Bruce Harrell’s disapproval rose to 52%, a new record in our polling. The previous high was 48% disapproval, which we saw in January. The mayor now has a worse spread than almost the entire Seattle City Council.

City Attorney Ann Davison is back in negative territory, with 29% approving of her job performance and 35% disapproving. This is Davison’s second worst mark.
