Challenger Erika Evans has a huge lead over incumbent Ann Davison for Seattle City Attorney
A near majority of Seattle voters say theyre ready to replace incumbent Seattle City Attorney Ann Davison with challenger Erika Evans, a new Civic Heartbeat poll conducted this week for the Northwest Progressive Institute has found.
In the aggregate, a representative sample of 49% of 615 likely November 2025 voters interviewed this week for the Northwest Progressive Institute by Change Research said they had or would be voting for Evans to be the citys next top legal officer, while 28% said they had or would be voting for incumbent Ann Davison, the lone Republican currently serving in citywide office. 19% said they were not sure and 4% would not vote.
Evans routed Davison and two other progressive challengers in the August Top Two election, garnering an impressive 55.83% of the vote. She is a former federal prosecutor who has also worked in the Seattle City Attorneys office in the past. Her campaign is a current sponsor of NPIs research and advocacy (PNW campaigns may purchase advertising from NPI), but had no involvement in the design or fielding of this survey.
Evans endorsers include Attorney General Nick Brown, United States Representative Pramila Jayapal, all of the King County Councilmembers who represent Seattle, and several Seattle City Councilmembers. She is enthusiastically backed by the Democratic Party in Seattle and King County and the labor movement, as well.
