Tom Dolan and Adolph Muller running for Sunnyside council seat 2
Lots of important questions will fall on whoever is elected to the Sunnyside City Council, including who should be the next city manager and a tight budget.
Two political newcomers are vying for the at-large district 2 seat in the Nov. 4 general election. Retired welding instructor Tom Dolan and teacher Adolph Muller seek the seat held by Mayor Dean Broersma. Broersma is not seeking re-election. Sunnyside's mayor is selected by the council.
Dolan reported $2,967 in campaign contributions, which includes $850 in his own money and $1,000 from the Yakima County Republicans. Muller opted for mini reporting, which means he does not have to file reports if he does not receive or spend more than $7,000.
In the other Sunnyside races, Leticia Zesati is challenging Theresa Hancock in District 1; Luis Ochoa is challenging Vicky Frausto in District 3; and Ramon Chavez is challenging Vicki Ripley in District 4.
