Thurston County Elections offering observer training ahead of November General Election
Thurston County Auditor’s Elections Division has announced in a news release that it is offering observer training for the Nov. 4 general election. The training will be held over Zoom at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 16.
Ballot processing is monitored on site by trained observers appointed by the Republican and Democratic parties and independent observers. The Thurston County Auditor’s Elections Division stated in the news release that it is committed to ensuring ballot processing is open and transparent. Observers can ask questions of full-time elections staff as long as it doesn’t inhibit ballot processing.
