Myrtle Beach mayoral debate spotlights economy, tourism, and affordable housing issues

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — Myrtle Beach mayoral candidates attended a community forum Tuesday hosted by the Myrtle Beach Branch of the NAACP.

The event took place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Thomas Maeser Auditorium at the Horry-Georgetown Technical College Conference Center.

Candidates took the stage to debate key issues, focusing heavily on the economy and tourism.

Daniel Auman emphasized the need for affordable housing and fair wages, stating, "We have to concentrate on affordable housing and fair wages so that people can afford to live."
