Trump wants to get rid of mail voting. Pennsylvania Republicans are urging voters to use it.

(Why is he wearing a suit and hard leather shoes on the golf course? Who is he pointing at?)

In August, President Donald Trump vowed on social media to “lead a movement to get rid of MAIL-IN BALLOTS.”

Pennsylvania Republicans, though, are sending voters a different message as they work to unseat three state Supreme Court justices this November, a historically difficult feat that will require turning out as many voters as they can.

“In 2024, we voted by mail and flipped Pennsylvania red,” a video ad from the Republican State Leadership Committee said, before urging voters to go to a website to request their mail ballots for the judicial election.

Republican voters in the commonwealth have been getting these kinds of conflicting messages for years, said veteran GOP consultant Christopher Nicholas, noting that Trump’s opposition to mail voting in particular has meant “it has taken our base longer to integrate new voting options.” But as state-level Republicans increasingly embrace mail voting, it appears voters are starting to as well.

For this November’s election, about 12,000 more Republican voters have requested mail ballots than did for the last municipal election in 2023, and there are still more than three weeks left to request a ballot.

It had to come to this, and I'm surprised it took the Repukes this long to catch on.

Democrats need to revise our game regarding the mailed ballots - we can't let the Repukes take this advantage away from us. They've already taken so much else.

2. There will be an increase in mailed ballots here in PA - simply because the Repukes will begin to take advantage

They've finally decided they can't fight it anymore, now they want to use mailed ballots. So this is a big change. There will be no more lawsuits IMO now that the Supreme Court has ruled everything in favor of the mailed ballots.

The latest ruling is that county election boards can no longer quarantine a mailed ballot without first notifying the voter whose ballot was held out, and giving them a chance to "cure" the ballot. That ruling just happened a couple weeks ago.

Also it means that blacks and other minorities who are being turned away at the regular polling stations can now vote from home in privacy and not have to deal with discrimination from Repukes. They could do that before, but now their ballots can't be quarantined and disregarded. This is a game-changer.

4. Maybe you're right about 2026, but this is about 2025 voting

We need as many D voters participating in this year's election because the Repukes want to take out 3 awesome liberal-thinking Judges from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. If you've read anything in the PA forum in the past few weeks, you're already up-to-date on this.

In Pennsylvania, judges get elected for 10 year terms, and then they can be "retained" for the next 10 year term. Since I've lived here (over 40 years) the re-election of judges is almost a sure thing every time. These Repukes want to change that this year, and they're spending truckloads of money to make it happen.

Nobody cares what Chump thinks, this is what's happening in Pennsylvania.
