Wood (D) outraises Vogel (D) in Erie County executive race; Davis (R) gets support from sole donor
Democrat Perry Wood, who hopes to unseat Erie County Executive Brenton Davis in November, has outraised his Democratic opponent Christina Vogel by nearly $80,000 in the run-up to the May 20 municipal primary election, campaign finance reports show.
Wood’s campaign committee, Vote Perry Wood, reported total contributions of $107,507 for the period of Jan. 1 to May 5. Vogel’s campaign committee, Friends of Christina Vogel, raised $27,846 for the same reporting period.
Davis is running unopposed in the Republican primary. His campaign committee, Friends to Elect Brenton Davis, reported $65,000 in contributions during the same reporting period, finance reports show.
Wood’s campaign has benefited from a combination of small and large donors, including multiple political action committees.
