Mrs. Claus tests positive for COVID-19, canceling holiday event at Pa. park

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs canceled holiday photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus on Saturday at Allentown’s Coca-Cola Park, after Mrs. Claus on Tuesday tested positive for COVID-19. Team spokesman Michael Ventola confirmed the diagnosis to lehighvalleylive.com.

“With the state of Pennsylvania’s quarantine rules, Mrs. Claus will need to quarantine for a minimum of 10 days, provided her symptoms subside and she does not have a fever for a period of 24 hours at the conclusion of the 10 days,” Ventola said in an email. “Thankfully, she’ll be able to return to work well before Christmas Eve. The IronPigs wish her well during her recovery.”

The IronPigs are a Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. Their 2020 season was canceled due to the coronavirus

The Clauses were scheduled to appear 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Majestic Clubhouse Store at the Allentown ballpark so guests could take selfies with the couple. Before Mrs. Claus’ diagnosis, the team advised anyone participating to remain six feet away and socially distant when taking photos with Santa and the Mrs.

Things like photos with Santa should not be happening anywhere this year, unless someone who already lives in your household can dress up like Santa.
