Thanksgiving,Christmas, kids birthday parties etc. I thought the whole idea was to celebrate family not be blitzed out of your mind. Sometimes so much that you don't even remember the occasion.

4. Before this year ... it was considered "College Night"

The night before Thanksgiving has become the night when college kids get home for the Thanksgiving weekend, but go out to the bars to hang with friends on the night before.

I don't think the idea is so much about drinking as it is about socializing and seeing your old friends that you haven't seen since you went off to school. There's so much to tell your friends and hear about their experiences. Other people go out too, but it's mainly the College Kids' night out.

THIS YEAR, things are totally different because of Covid. Now the fear is that everyone could be carrying the virus, or bringing it home to their family and friends.
