Deadline approaching to register to vote in Ward 4 election

Oct. 24 is the last day to apply for voter registration to be eligible to vote in the Nov. 18 City of Lawton runoff election for Ward 4.

The runoff election will be between incumbent George Gill and Tiffiney Dimery

Comanche County Election Board Secretary Amy Sims said persons who are U.S. citizens, residents of Oklahoma, and at least 17½ years old are eligible to apply for voter registration. Applicants must be at least 18 years old on election day. Applications are necessary only for those who are not already registered to vote, or who need to make changes in their registration forms.

Applications must be received by the county election board or postmarked no later than midnight, Oct. 24. Applications postmarked after that time will be accepted, but will not be processed until after the Nov. 18 election, Sims said. Applications also may be submitted to any motor vehicle agency that is an official voter registration agency.
