📣Congressman David Rouzer recently introduced H.R. 369, aka dismantle Dept of Education

Yesterday, President Trump announced plans to end the Department of Education and return education policy to the states. Congressman David Rouzer recently introduced H.R. 369, the States’ Education Reclamation Act, which responsibly dismantles the Department and returns taxpayer dollars to the states where they can choose to fund teacher pay raises, build new schools, or any other purposes to enhance education.

The Department of Education was created with the intention of reversing stagnating education performance amongst Americans. Since 1980, the Department’s budget has ballooned from $14 billion to over $100 billion while failing to vastly improve students’ performance in math, science and reading.

The States’ Education Reclamation Act would reallocate billions of dollars proportionally to states so taxpayer dollars used for bureaucratic overhead would be used to actually improve education outcomes for our country’s children.

It will become a wasteland between Raleigh and Durham. It will finally be bulldozed and made into expensive condos that no one will be able to afford. Oh, and golf courses. Gods know there are not enough golf courses in the Triangle.

At one point, Raleigh had something like 30 colleges and other institutes of higher learning. The atmospheric pressure would change whenever a break would come up from the number of people who would be either coming into or heading out of town.

Look how far it has fallen....

Staggered and crawled along the sidewalks. (Alligator Alley... best way to handle a late night.) I have performed at Theatre in the Park many times. At Raleigh Little Theater a few times. At Thompson Theater as well. My footprint is all over that street, that campus, and that area.

I recently looked at all of it through Google Maps. I barely recognize it. Wow.
