Secretive phone apps installed on state phones during Greitens tenure

JEFFERSON CITY • A special application that destroys text messages wasn’t the only secretive phone app used by then- Gov. Eric Greitens’ administration.

Gov. Mike Parson’s administration confirmed Wednesday that some state phones from the Greitens era had a special security app that allowed users to schedule when their text messages are deleted.

No current administration officials use the Silent Phone app, Parson spokesman Steele Shippy said.

Officials say the Silent Phone app was installed as part of the preparation for a trade mission in 2017 to help maintain secure communications while overseas.

was a blatant attempt to avoid the state's open records law. I'd love to know where in the world these guys (Greitens, etc.) got the idea of using this app / and who told them about the app? Clear evidence of more than one person attempting to circumvent state laws.
