Tupelo mayor wins re-election in landslide; New Albany mayor loses and more

(WTVA) — Todd Jordan won re-election as Tupelo’s mayor in a landslide.

He won the Republican primary on Tuesday, April 1 with 84% of the vote over Rob Chambers and wins the overall election.

Starkville Mayor Lynn Spruill won the Democratic primary with 55% of the vote on Tuesday. She’ll face Republican Roger Bassett in the June 3 general election.

Columbus mayoral candidate Stephen Jones won the Democratic primary with 55%. He’ll face independents Darren Leech and Bill Strauss in the general election.

New Albany Mayor Tim Kent lost the Republican primary. Jeff Olson won with 56% of the vote. Olson wins the overall election.
