Warmer temperatures could reduce ice accumulation during metro Detroit winter storm


(Detroit Free Press) Watch out for metro Detroiters stampeding to the grocery store.

An ice storm is shaping up to hit southeast Michigan on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in White Lake. A winter storm watch is in effect from noon Wednesday through noon Thursday.

The weather service provided an update Tuesday afternoon on Twitter that said that temperatures are expected to trend slightly warmer, reducing the chance of ice accumulation.




Expect rain, ice and snow

Southeast Michigan is expected to be hit with a low-pressure system with wintry precipitation Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning. ............(more)

Predicting 7-12 up here in Hale maybe a glaze of ice. Wet and heavy snow take clearing slow and easy.
