Related: About this forumYIKES. The tornado sirens are going off here in Lansing for a confirmed tornado on the ground
I've got my cats and me in a secure location and it looks like it will pass just to my southeast. If any DUers live northeast of Lansing, WATCH THE SKY!

(36,948 posts)first Saturday of the month at 1:00 pm. The sirens are still going off--there's a bunch of cells training along the same area. Luckily for me, it's closer to Okemos. Fortunately, it looks like the biggest tornado lifted as it came into Lansing, but there appears to be some minor damage in the Okemos area. I live very near US 127 & I-496.
Oh, great. There's another line coming up from the Chicago area that might affect us in a couple of hours.
The cats and I are ready for this to be over. They definitely do not like the sirens.

(5,410 posts)I initially commmented, but changed it to an op. Is my recollection of watching a tornado in Lansing, in my childhood:
