Michigan cities set temperature marks Oct. 4. Here's where it got really hot

Cities across Michigan set temperature records on Saturday, Oct. 4, and more could fall on Sunday, Oct. 5, before cool fall weather finally moves into Michigan.

The Gaylord National Weather Service office said records were set or tied across northern Michigan on Saturday.

"Most climate sites broke or tied their daily high temp records today, with highs soaring into the 80s," the weather service said. "Traverse City also tied its warmest October day on record, matching 89 degrees last set 103 years ago in 1922! Pellston was the only location to fall just short of a new record."

The National Weather Service in Detroit said to expect more heat on Oct. 5. ..............(more)

1. It's absurd. We've been in the mid to upper 80s in South Bend for the past week and a half.

We have never seen sustained heat like this, so late in the year.

2. More than likely the hot temps contributed to the death of the horse in Michigan pulling the cart during this time.

IMO the driver intentionally killed the horse to make a buck. I hope the driver rots in h****.
