A 3-year-old boy is in critical condition Friday after accidentally shooting himself in the face with his mother's gun. Police were on the scene in the 11000 block of St. Patrick Street on Detroit's east side. Detroit Police Chief James White said, and according to the preliminary information he had, that the child sustained a graze wound and is expected to recover.
White told media at the scene that the child's mother returned home from work about 4 p.m. and set her weapon down on a dresser, where the child found it and accidentally fired it, injuring himself.
White said Detroit Police received a call about 4:20 p.m. and arrived at the scene shortly after. There were eight people in the house five children and three adults, White said.
"We're here way too many times talking about this," White said. "If you're going to have a gun, which many people do, you also have to have what's called responsibility."

Americans don't care enough to do anything about it.

In what insane country does a mother take a gun to work?
Was she a police officer who forgot to store her weapon at work when getting changed?
Or was she just a civilian who needed a gun when going out to work just for 'protection'?
News flash!
Guns have a safety. If it is off, the gun doesn't care who is pulling the trigger, or where it is pointed.
