Its a cruel fact, but people whove went through drug abuses, teenagers and young people, when they have children, they do two things. They get them involved, and they steal from em. Theres Theyve, theyve got that habit so bad that that kid will go without before I go without. If youve got a neighborhood full of rabid cats, you go out and shoot em, then you dont have to worry about the rabid cats. But, you know, its People become little bit horrified when you talk about putting other people down. But life is life. Youre born, youre gonna live, hopefully in a good way, then youre gonna die. Nobody lives forever. The time of your death is A lot of its predetermined by how you grow up and act in your younger years as to how good your older years are gonna be.

Sorry to say it, but its too late to do anything. You just have to try to deal with it the best you can.

What has this loon been feeding his brain?? He was on city council until a few weeks ago. They Walk Among Us and Sleep with one eye open.
Joni Ernst's legal residence home town. She went to school in Stanton when their welcome sign proclaimed it to be
"The Little White City" all white houses.

and I found him offensive when he mentioned "rabid cats"... those are fighting words to me, because most AREN'T. It's just a prelude to become "ok" with murdering humans.

And he only resigned because he couldn't get along with the City Administrator and a fellow councilman. So, why not just be Mayor instead. Then you don't have to get along with them. You can just boss them around.

A Red Oak resident for almost 50 years, Haidsiak is a graduate of Bedford High School. A retired Iowa National Guard reserve, Haidsiak spent 28 years in the military, with tours of duty in Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm. Haidsiak has been involved in various veterans organizations, including local VFW, American Legion and AmVets chapters, as well as the Kiwanis and Masonic Lodge. Haidsiak was elected to the Red Oak City Council's 1st ward seat in November, 2023, only to resign back in May. In his resignation letter, he cited the inability to work with City Administrator Lisa Kotter and the "tension between himself and a fellow councilman" as the reasons for his resignation. Speaking on KMA's "Morning Line" program Monday morning, Haidsiak says he's running for mayor to bring changes to city government.

UPDATE: Haidsiak withdraws from Red Oak mayor's race
Ethan Hewett, Mike Peterson
UPDATE: Friday, October 17th, 2025 1:39 P.M.
(Red Oak) -- After making controversial statements at a community forum, a Red Oak mayoral candidate has pulled out of the race.
In a statement emailed to KMA News Friday afternoon, John Haidsiak announces he is no longer a candidate for mayor--though it's too late to take his name off of the November 4th city-school election ballot. Haidsiak announced his decision in the wake of comments made at a recent Mayor's Youth Advisory Council invitation-only conversation with both mayoral and city council candidates. During the event, one of the final questions asked of the candidates was how they would plan to deal with the "poverty and drug use in the community." In what appears to be the full unedited audio of the forum anonymously sent to KMA News and other local media outlets, Haidsiak's response included a reference to mass extermination.
"It's a cruel fact, but people who've went through drug abuses, teenagers and young people, when they have children, they do two things--they get them involved, and they steal from 'em," said Haidsiak. "They've got that habit so bad that that kid will go without before I go without. And it just escalates the problem to where there's no reasonable fix-it solution other than mass extermination."
Haidsiak also compared the problem to a "neighborhood full of rabid cats."

(52,201 posts)8. I haven't been there but this is the story...
Stanton has been known as the Little White City since the1920s when conductors on passenger trains going through town pointed outits crisp, tidy look. To this day, every house is painted white. WhenI asked Donald Peterson, president of the Historical Society, why theywere all white, he replied, I dont know, but my guess isthat we Swedes have always been very frugal people and white paint wascheaper.
Those of you who have passed the 50-year mark may remember Mrs.Olsen, the kindly Swedish lady who served a good cup of coffee, TheMountain Grown Kind, on television ads for Folgers Coffee a fewyears back. As a Hollywood film star and TV commercial personality, VirginiaChristine is Stantonsmost famous daughter.
