And steel . took years to get back. Now its starting again. Pun dents at the time were cheering the layoffs because they made companies leaner and made more money. Until the workers could no longer afford the cars and the unsold were stashed wherever they could hide them and the came close to losing everything. Here we go again.

I'm no economist, just an old lady, but way back before me, Henry Ford paid workers enough so they could buy the cars they made because he knew that without buyers everything goes to he'll even for millionaires. (yes I know about Ford don't yell at me)

I remember the layoffs.. when we bought our first house the interest rates were out of this world.. Hard times come and hard times go.. but I have never seen anyone purposefully run our economy into the ditch as quickly as this one has..Reagan took us from being the largest creditor nation in the world.. (people owing us money) to the largest debtor nation in the world in 8 short years.. Conservatives are so bad with money.. they always put stuff on the credit card.. so to speak.. Democrats will tax you for their programs.. but they make sure they are paid for unless it is and emergency..

The majority of the GOP is comprised of Darwin Award Winning fascists.

They are those that cling to the undying love of the hardcore 'believers', the unshakeable 'faith' of the fools and the dreamers and of course their 'holy devotion' to 'sins of the ages'.

And there's no easy way, when you're a hard core believer,
And you trust in the schemes of the fools and the dreamers
As their jubilant elation meets ultimate sorrow...
Catastrophe's joy will take 'em decades to swallow

I speak from experience.
I and mine are the only members of our collective families that escaped the Abrahamic blood cult of 'Christ' in which we were reared.

All the rest are "Nationalist Christians' aka Nat-Cs.
Truly Nat-C or Nazi no matter the name the abject depravity's always the same.

It is the Machiavellian fascists that are raping, pillaging and massacring individuals, families, communities and our nation writ large.

It is all the rest that suffer, the fools and the innocents alike.

Pain is often the great motivator for second order change.

Here's to that occurrence.
May reason rule!

Whirlpool: Keep It Made in America

The Whirlpool Corp. plans to start closing its refrigerator plant in Evansville, Ind., on March 26. The refrigerators now manufactured at this plant will be produced in Mexico, eliminating 1,100 local jobs. Meanwhile, Whirlpool--the world's largest home appliance maker--enjoys healthy profits and has received a $19 million economic matching grant that should be creating jobs here in America.
