Election board dusts off voting machines for NACS referendum election

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — The Allen County Election Board is testing voting machines ahead of a special election.

Public testing of the voting machines was conducted by the Allen County Election Board on Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Rousseau Centre on Main Street, according to a notice sent by the board’s director.

The optical scan system was tested, alongside the voting machines that are used to record votes.

The voting machines tested on Tuesday will be the same machines used for the Nov. 4 Special Election for Northwest Allen County Schools. The election is being conducted to allow residents to cast their vote on a proposed operating referendum.
