(25,171 posts)almost all garages are in the alleys and they don't plow the alleys. I spent an hour and a half digging out my car.
But the weather is getting warmer. Tomorrow it will be in the 20s.

(27,543 posts)We were at -9 when I woke up, this morning. Ended up at 25 degrees, which felt absolutely balmy.
Looks like tomorrow we're out of the deep freeze, and no significant snow in the 10 day forecast.
I was pleasantly surprised that my relatively low-key snow blower was able to handle the snow. Normally my neighbor takes care of my driveway when the snow is this deep, but he had someone stop by to take care of his driveway, so his monster snow blower must be out of repair.
BTW, I used to LOVE taking the train to Chicago to visit my aunt. She lived on Clarendon at the Boardwalk. Her boss was old Mayor Daily's ex-son in law, Bill Thompson. She knew some really interesting people.

(27,543 posts)I'll stop moaning about the 9.5" we got. It was very light and fluffy but still a pain to clear.

(3,916 posts)My husband got out of the garage to go to the bank. But, he almost couldn't get back into the garage.
Currently have the Ice Dam Guys here spraying our roof with steam. We've had 2 ice dam leaks so far. It is certainly a mess.

(11,686 posts)I know this does no good to say this but know that I am a person who would help you shovel snow without expecting a darn thing if I was there. Please try to stay warm and safe.

(12,437 posts)Most people help neighbours to shovel and it is often nice to go out to shovel and it is all done, then you carry it forward and next time do the neighbour who did yours.

(11,686 posts)but I guess some ( like $150 dollar guy ) have indicated I am wrong. Well, he and people like him can go **** themselves.
