SUV drives into Woodfield Mall

A couple injuries and two people in custody.

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — Police were on the scene Friday afternoon at Woodfield Mall after reports of a car driving through Sears.

Witnesses told WGN they saw a black SUV driving through the Schaumburg mall around around 2:30 p.m., striking kiosks. The incident took place on the lower level of the mall.

A video posted to Twitter shows a black SUV driving past a Forever 21, and people running away.

It is unclear if there were any injuries.

No further information was provided.

Sears’ windows , they went through that one big store and the entered into the main mall area of shops That is a way to go and many people would have been encountered
This is a very large mall in the Chicagoland area and wtf indeed

That side of the mall was all Sears until recently but like a lot of other Sears stores they shrunk their footprint.

On Edit:
An eyewitness was saying that the car went through that door, into the Sears, then a hard turn into the main mall.
TV news just showed the mall map and basically the car cut through a corner of Sears then into the mall.

Yes if one is still out there, it’s shrinking in size no doubt but still really wtf

Whenever I go to the Woodfield Mall, I always use the Penney's entrance. Parking isn't too bad just outside the doors & it is safer than driving through windows & onto the mall pedestrian way.

His family issued a statement saying he's got some mental health issues and is normally on medication.
