How the US Stole Hawaii

Please pardon the advertisement at the end of the video.

Beyond providing a historical perspective of how the sugar barons overthrew the monarchy in Hawaii with U.S. assistance, I saw actions that are similar to what we recently experienced in the insurrection.

The video also brings forth that the introduction of capitalism and a market economy had positive and negative impacts.

american capitalists had been "filibustering" (the original definition) throughout the caribbean and latin america.

in hawaii the missionaries added a uniquely puritan twist to colonialism. ever wonder why they call joyless nonspontaneous mechanical sex the "missionary position?"

One wonders how we would view a similar statement in reference to 3rd and 4th generation children of immigrants in this country.
