Six visitors who violate quarantine rules are sent back

Six Maui visitors were being sent back to California on Wednesday after reports that they violated 14-day quarantine rules, a Maui airport official said.

The men and women were in a group traveling together, and Maui Visitors Bureau employees had documented their lodging when they arrived at Kahului Airport, said Maui Airports District Manager Marvin Moniz.

He said the visitors had been “a little bit disruptive” when they arrived and were told they had to fill out documents and abide by the 14-day quarantine.

Police had warned the group after responding to calls reporting they weren’t at their place of lodging, Moniz said. When the quarantine violations continued more than once, police tracked down the group, who faced being arrested if they didn’t leave the island, Moniz said.

The frolicking group probably thought nobody would notice, or even more, do anything about their actions.

14 day quarantine rule.. he said some Visitors were already breaking it. That was a week ago on Kauai.

Mahalo, TexasT. If you wanna play you gotta pay, Visitors. Just 2 weeks then you can have a real vacay!

So expensive for them to come over here just to get busted!
